Man Accused of Stealing Guns Waived Preliminary Hearing

41-year-old Carlos Bejarano-Rodriguez accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of guns is headed to district court.

Bejarano-Rodriguez was arrested in November following a month-long investigation involving the Stanton County Sheriff’s office as well as Columbus and West Point police.

Rodriguez waived his preliminary hearing in Stanton County Court Tuesday.

Bejarano-Rodriguez and 38-year-old Brandy Wolford are accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of guns and from a rural residence northwest of Stanton back in October.

County Court Judge Mike Long agreed Monday to reduce Bejarano-Rodriguez’s warrant from $100,000 to $50,000. He’ll be arraigned in district court on January 4th. He’s currently homed in the Platte County Jail while Wolford is out on bond.
