Toy guns banned at Anaheim theme parks

Many sites are reporting that Disneyland has begun installing metal detectors at the Anaheim parks.

“Guests will walk through bag screening first, and some ‘randomly’ selected visitor may have to walk through a metal detector”, The Orange County Register’s OC Disney states on Twitter.

The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim made some changes to its rules overnight Thursday, Dec. 17, according to fan site Dateline Disneyland.
There are two new rules: toy guns are now prohibited from the resort and guests over the age of 14 will not be allowed to wear costumes.

The park rules site specifically mentions that the toy guns include “toy blasters, squirt guns etc.”

According to The Orlando Sentinel, theme parks in Florida including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando are installing metal detectors at all parks.
